The Dean of Students provides leadership for Campus Life. Campus Life comprises a wide array of student services organized as individual departments that manage and direct service provision to students. The text that follows includes the office of the Dean of Students Mission and Vision Statements, followed by Campus Life's Mission statement.
Office of the Dean of Students: Mission Statement
The office of the Dean of Students is committed to providing meaningful co-curricular experiences that support, strengthen, and reinforce academic, spiritual, personal, social, cultural, and recreational growth in the BYU student. We actively encourage and promote student development through interactions with Campus Life Departments.

In the Dean of Students Office, our vision is to inspire students entering BYU to become spiritually learned, academically qualified, morally and ethically virtuous, and service oriented citizens (BYU Aims), who will contribute to our BYU community and, as graduates of the university, will go forth to serve.

How do we achieve our mission?
As Campus Life employees, we achieve our mission primarily by providing meaningful, out-of-classroom experiences that strengthen and reinforce academic, spiritual, personal, social, cultural, and recreational growth in the BYU student.
What is our primary goal?
As Campus Life employees, our primary goal is to assist BYU students as they become:
- Spiritually learned
- Academically educated
- Morally virtuous
