Students who have recently experienced the loss of a family member, close friend, or fellow student and would like support or information about available services can contact the Dean of Students Office for assistance. The Dean of Students Office supports these students by informing faculty on their behalf and connecting students to campus resources.

Faculty, staff, family members, and friends may also contact our office to refer a student, and we will reach out to offer assistance.

Support Offered by CAPS


BYU students who are impacted by the death of a family member, close friend or fellow student may reach out to Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) for in-person and/or online mental health resources and support.

In-Person Support:
•Crisis Walk-in Appointments
•Individual & Group Therapy
•Biofeedback Services
